When it comes to a vacation on the water, Venice is, of course, totally part of it. You simply switch from the cruise ship to a gondola.  Take in the beautiful surroundings with its bridges , squares and buildings.  For Venice, people often dock at the port of Trieste. Istanbul, Bodrum and Izmir are the three Turkish port cities most frequently visited by cruises.  And that is quite understandable. Snack Turkish fruit, shop a real Turkish carpet in the Bazaar, and of course, visit the breathtaking Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.  Cyprus and Egypt are destinations that are also sometimes covered by the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Go taste honey  and cheese , such as Halloumi, in Cyprus. Or cross the border between the Greek and Turkish regions. Admire the pyramids of Cairo and visit Alexandria's coolest vantage points.
