Best travel period for an Africa cruise

Are you planning a cruise past iconic cities, impressive nature and sunny islands that only seem to occur in our dreams?  Then choose Africa! Because the continent is very large, the ideal travel time varies by destination.

+ North Africa: The countries belonging to North Africa are largely located on the Mediterranean Sea. As a result, the climate in these countries corresponds to what we are used to in Europe. The best months to choose a cruise to northern Africa are in spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October). That’s when the temperature is pleasant and there isn’t too much rain.

+ East Africa: Eastern Africa includes Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles archipelago. Cruises along these destinations are beautiful and are best done between May and October. Year-round temperatures are pleasant, but they do have the rainy season in several places between November and April.

+ South Africa: In southern Africa, seasons are reversed compared to ours. This is because South Africa lies below the equator. The country is very large so there are some seasonal differences in temperatures. Summers can be very hot and winters bring some rain and cold. In general, March, April, September and October are the best months for a South Africa cruise. Fun fact! In South Africa, you also have whale season. There are more whales  swimming around from June to November.

+ West Africa: In western Africa lies the archipelago of Cape Verde and Senegal, which you can visit on a cruise. The ideal time to visit these countries is between October and June.

Explore northern Africa with a cruise

We cannot overstate how amazing Africa is.  A diverse continent where everyone can enjoy themselves. What can you expect from northern Africa? Impressive port cities, desert climate and lots of culture! With a cruise, you moor on the coasts of Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco, for example. Run like Marty, Melman, Alex and Gloria through the jungle, spot Nemo and Dory deep in the sea and lounge like Sid with your feet in the sand. South Africa: Table Mountain, whales and National Parks

Southern Africa is home to several wonders of the world. Five of them, of course, are the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo.
